-
- Since you'd be
skimming to the pictures anyway, I'll try throwin'
them at ya first - and then maybe you'll read the
entry...
-
- Cameron
Kontras, Live Adam's older
brother...
-
- Cameron as
a Backstreet Boy...
-
- Cameron
mackin' during G's set...
-
- Cameron
being "dad" in the alternate
ending...
-
- Oh, and just
'cause I just have to see all 3 so far
together...
-
-
-
- As you can see,
Cameron wasn't much of a stretch for me to pull off.
Of course going from DEWD to Cameron was a bit rough,
but other than the glasses - Cameron is basically ME.
Looking at those pics above, it seems the top 2 look a
bit similar...heh - only when they're still. They are
quite night and day as you'll be able to see in the
videos. Anyway, I'm waaaaay ahead of myself here.
Let's tell all the goodies shall we?
-
- So we needed at
least 10 days off for me to shave that orange goat off
to have a full goatee and sideburns for Cameron.
Unfortunately the lady who cut my hair started shaving
one of them off and then asked: "Do you want me to
clean this up?" - yeah, I guess NOW I do.
LOL. DAMNIT. But with a little make up, even 4 days
growth can look like a full sideburn - giddy up. Yet
another dye job and my hair was a light brown, still
not as dark as G - but nothin' like Dewd. All the
downtime was spent editing, and editing, and
editing... An unreal amount of work. Realize by
editing, I don't mean actual cutting together of
footage. Simply all the computer work is what I call
"editing". Lining all the footage up - making
everything sync together right. Working on the new
audio script for Cameron...just everything.
I easily put in over 150 hours of computer time
in the time off. The feeling of "this will never end"
certainly echoed throughout my mind. But every hour I
put into this, it's another notch of impressiveness
when this is complete.
-
- Of course the big
notch of impressiveness is getting our guest star.
Well we've had a bit of a delay, but also a great plan
of action that just may nail this down. Charlotte felt
his agent REALLY needs to be on our side for this to
happen. As well, if we can get him to feel he's
GAINING something by doing this - then it's
utlimately more likely. So we're gonna introduce the
fact to him that I am unrepresented as of now. We've
made him a video of the first 2 characters and are
having a meeting with him next week. We're hoping that
if the special guest and I both have the same
representation, that this "favor" would be a little
easier to swallow for him since it's "for the team". I
think it's a great course of action. I also feel this
will get prolonged SO FAR that it will never
happen. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I've
set up the script in such a way that I can do all 4tvs
with an alternate ending...then afterwards, I'll grow
back my goatee to look like Cameron again since he's
the TV that the guest star will be in. The nice
part about all of this, is that it won't effect the
post-production phase at all. I can be completing
every aspect like I would normally, and if he does say
yes - we can just plug him in at the end. What it does
put off will be the actual PERFORMANCE of The
Trinitrons, as we'll want to give him every chance in
the world to do this before we just go with the
alternate ending. As well, we could even perform it
for him WITH the alternate ending to persuade him to
do it. This gives us the best possible shot at
attaining him, and truth be told: it would make this
show unbeatable. Simply unbeatable. In fact Charlotte
won't even "think" about the fact that it may not
happen. Even when we were shooting the alternate
ending for Cameron, she's like: "It doesn't matter,
we'll never use it"...I of course made sure it was
still correct - heh. I am cynical to the core man. But
it is nice to hear her optimism. Anyway, on to the
shoot:
-
- The shoot for
Cameron went relatively smooth. It was by far the most
difficult in terms of lines and timing is concerned.
As well, getting the "feel" of Cameron was pretty
tough. He's supposed to be a cross between me and
Ferris Beuhler. He's a bit competitive with Live Adam
and is somewhat the voice of reason throughout the
show. You throw all those traits together and there's
more than a few ways to play him. Well right in the
middle of shooting - Charlotte got a brainstorm that
absolutely threw everything into a blender: Cameron
should be Live Adam's older brother. A complete take
on Oasis. It explains the slight sibling rivalry, and
really sets the tone for the entire script. I can't
believe neither of us thought of this before. So we
went through the whole script and made a few changes,
most of them to Live Adam's dialogue - and it is done.
Cameron Kontras, Adam's older brother. It was right in
front of our noses all this time, and it occurs to us
WHILE we're recording. Amazing. The great part
about this is the little opening I have planned
for the show. A little "Behind The Music" spoof to
give the audience a background on the band can show
early pics of Cameron and Adam growing up - and I can
just use pics of me 4 years apart. LOL. How funny is
that gonna look. So it just goes to show - until this
baby is performed, it is constantly
breathing.
-
- Once that was
established, it all flew together. We finished up and
I was on quite a high. 3 down, 1 to go. But as I put
the footage into the computer - I missed quite a
glaring mistake: We forgot the microphone for The
Backstreet Boys set. FUCK. Well, no biggie - the
lights were still here, and I redid everything by
myself. The mic is actually a prop, as we're recording
the audio seperately with a different mic. But once
that was done - so was the shoot. Even with that
mishap, it only took 9 hours to do Cameron. But he is
truly the calm before the storm...
-
- ...because this
Sunday morning I will become Spencer. Lance from
N'Sync meets Nick from Backstreet...and every feminine
boy band member in between. I hate to admit this,
but I'm really excited about this character.
I can't wait to do a gay character that can be
funny - but real too. So often it's done SOOOO
stereotypically that it's hackneyed - but he was
written with a solid foundation. He has a nice set of
traits to play with, and is sincerely enthusiastic
without a hint of sarcasm. It should come off as the
most honest performance of the bunch. What sucks about
it all, is that it's so easy to make me look GAY. LOL.
I've come to accept this fact and tried valiantly to
look like a "man" in my day to day life, because my
features just scream woman sometimes. HAHAHA. I guess
what I'm saying is, when you check your email Monday
night and feast your eyes on the final television,
have all the assurance in the world that I am still
married to Jessica. If I've done my job, you'll have
your doubts.
