I'm talking about Champps Americana and I'm a bit ahead of myself. I met with the promotions guy, Dave Martin, on Tuesday. He was extremely cordial. We went into the media booth and he watched my tape on this little black and white monitor with headphones. Though he didn’t laugh at any of the funny parts, he said he loved the idea. Thought it would go over great. We talked for nearly 45 minutes. I made the mistake of mentioning CD101 and I think he’s looking for free advertising as well. I immediately explained I could not promise anything. I gave him my sales manager’s name and number for that. At first he wanted to incorporate it with the karaoke night but I really discouraged that because that would just piss people off. He seemed sold on the idea of a weekly Sunday night thing…like 9-11 pm. He also mentioned to me that Tim Klunk wasn’t the guy I needed to talk to at the other restaurant…it was so and so. I kind of rolled my eyes and just said "fuck it" to myself, Tim would point me in the right direction. Jesus. Dave also talked about setting it up and playing 30 minutes to give some of suits an Idea of the show. Though hesitant, I realize this is probably something I’ll have to do since this idea is so new…but DAMNIT…that’s what the video was for! He said he'd talk to his GM tomorrow and get back to me ASAP.   Called the next day, left a message, then he called Thursday and said the GM wanted to meet with me today. HOT DAMN. I wish I could remember more particulars but my head is spinning. He’s gonna give me a big crowd on Wednesday the 30th, and then every saturday after that, indefintely. We have to wait until the 30th for the nba finals to be over. Can you believe this? I am so pumped. This is PAID! $200 a night! The GM said his bar sucks and he needs to make his saturday nights kick ass. He was determined, and 4tvs is how he wants to do it. hot damn! This is so amazing. I can’t believe this happened so quick. I certainly never expected it to. Whew...i’m not gonna sleep again for a month! I’m calling Dave on Wednesay to tell him what say to promote my show.
