Yesterday afternoon we took MOOSE
to the bus station. Let me just say that the
freeways in LA are AWESOME. Yes
they're congested but they're so FREAKIN' fast. It's
crowded as hell, but everyone's
going 70. It's like an adrenaline rush the whole time.
Granted it wasn't rush-hour,
but I still think Columbus traffic sucks worse.
There's something about a 10-12
lane highway that is just...SMART. Columbus making 270
only 6 is STOOPID. Anyway,
MOOSE took off for Columbus at 2 PM. I can't imagine
how hellish it would be to
drive ALL the way out here, and 3 days later drive ALL
the way back. Jess and I still
haven't figured out how we're going to
make this work yet, but we're definitely good
at finding
furniture...
As Jessica was applying for a job
at Hollywood Video, I took the pick-up truck
and headed around back to the
dumpsters and hit the jackpot. 2 couches, a computer
desk, 2 computer chairs and a
homeless man that I didn't see until I got out of the
truck. All pumped I jump out
and check out the couches...both were in pretty
amazing condition, but one
actually went with our decor (but we ended up putting
a sheet over it anyway). I went
to check out the computer desk (one of those up and
down ones that I hate, but WHO
CARES it's better than the floor), and out jumps
"homeless man". Very
"Homeless-Dave" for those of you in
Columbus. He was looking at part of the
computer desk. It was at this
point that I realized the world I had put myself in.
It wasn't but 2 months ago I
was trying to figure out which DVD to buy, and now I'm
looking through dumpsters for a
couch and bed. For some strange reason it makes me
laugh. I wonder what all of you
think sometimes. "Ok, so now he sends us movies of him
carrying trash up the steps..."
The stories and movies will get better I promise you.
But for now back to
"Homeless-Dave"...
Didn't really know if I should say
anything. I was struck with the urge to do the
male head-nod and say: "hey,
how ya doin'"...but it just didn't seem right. Neither
did "What's up man..." Another
favorite of mine. So I just looked in the dumpster. 2
killer computer chairs, but I
decided not to take them out because Dave might want
'em.
I got the couch
in the truck and went for
the desk, but I needed the other piece
because it was for the
keyboard. (sigh)...Got the
desk in and the homeless man was
gone...got the chairs the
piece and also found a
whole bunch of phone cord. Cool. Once we
got everything in the
apartment the lysol was
put to good use. We scrubbed at this big
black stain on the couch
and figured it was better
to do the ol' sheet trick and make it all
purty. Definitely missed
MOOSE carrying the couch
up the stairs, but it made for
a
funny
video.

Overall, everything is coming
together. Found some cheap grocery stores and
applying for jobs like crazy.
Hopefully some things come through next week. I'd like
to start concentrating on 4tvs.
Though I have a feeling it'll be February before I can
even begin to try.
Oh, and again let me reiterate
that I CANNOT respond to your emails until this coming
Tuesday as I do not have local access to the internet
right now. I've had to dial to
Columbus each time. Your emails have
been awesome and I will respond to them all. As
I will also save them for "the
book"...OH! Almost forgot, check this out:

This guy must've heard me on the
web at www.listen.com.
What a thrill. It boggles my
mind to think that a guy in Romania
heard me sing and felt compelled to write me.
Whew. Very cool. It makes
eating rice and ramen noodles much sweeter knowing the
end result could be so
rewarding. Again, if you haven't given your 2 cents on
my mp3's at www.listen.com
please do.
